The Trumark team is comprised of individuals with decades of experience providing independent and professional “best of class” insurance solutions for financial professionals and their clients. They are willing to tailor their services to your needs, including providing marketing expertise or meeting with your clients and their advisors to explain the benefits of various planning strategies. In addition to these individuals, there is an entire team providing internal marketing support for illustrations, marketing ideas and client interaction.
Thomas M. Bellig, JD
As a Principal of Trumark, Tom oversees the firm’s sales and marketing activities within financial institutions and manages Trumark’s team of Sales Vice Presidents. Tom also partners with select financial advisors to identify opportunities to use advanced insurance-based solutions to optimize the retirement and estate plans of their clients.
As an active member of the boards of both BRAMCO and PLAN, Tom is also regularly engaged with the line-up of insurance companies and financial institutions with which Trumark chooses to do business. Prior to Trumark, Tom provided legal and strategic advice in the course of his employment in the San Francisco offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP. Subsequent to those positions, Tom worked as a Managing Director in a boutique investment banking firm specializing in distressed debt investments in China.
Timothy Bellig, CLTC, CLU
Having spent almost a decade in the insurance business, Tim has developed high level relationships with key underwriters at the leading insurance carriers. As a result of these relationships, as well as his risk management and underwriting expertise, Tim is able to work efficiently and effectively with each carrier’s underwriting team to help ensure the best deal for the insured. Furthermore, Tim’s unmatched knowledge of the many products offered by the multiple carriers represented by Trumark, enables him to identify the best product fit for a client’s need. Tim received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of California at Davis where he attended on a football scholarship.
John Bellig, CFP, CLU
A veteran of 40+ years in the insurance industry, John has developed successful regional and national marketing firms that have produced millions of dollars of life insurance, annuity and long-term care premium. John graduated from San Jose State University, received his Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1977 and his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1984.
Jon Allen, CLTC
An experienced professional with over 19 years in the insurance industry, Jon combines his knowledge in underwriting, risk management and employee benefits to provide advanced insurance planning to clients of financial advisors and insurance professionals throughout the Bay Area. Jon has served as a risk management consultant for specific projects and written many articles on risk management and underwriting for Consumer Reports and various medical impairment associations. With expertise extending to the business market; including group long-term care and employee benefits, Jon is adept at providing advanced planning to owners of small to medium-sized businesses.
Matthew J. Purkiss
Over the past decade, Matt has partnered with financial advisors throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, providing their clients the guidance necessary to implement successful plans for accumulating, protecting and efficiently transferring wealth.
Knowing every client’s objectives are different, Matt offers a differentiated experience that is concept and product neutral. He focuses on aggressive client advocacy and works closely with advisors to identify areas of need, design strategies and implement the most suitable solutions.
Prior to joining Trumark, Matt worked as a Regional Sales Manager in the technology industry, where he worked directly with executives at Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies to design and deliver solutions critical to their business.
Matt holds his Series 6 and 63 securities designations and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from the University of San Francisco where he attended on a baseball scholarship. After completing his degree, Matt continued his baseball career playing professionally for the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles organizations.
Dan Schorgl, LUTCF
Dan Schorgl is a specialist in the design and implementation of advanced planning strategies for families of significant wealth, entrepreneurs and professionals. For most of these clients, this involves working with their advisors to establish, fund and leverage multi-generational wealth strategies, frequently in tandem with philanthropic techniques. Mr. Schorgl’s extensive experience providing advanced technical and marketing support for financial advisors includes:
– Client presentation assistance
– Client seminars and advisor training classes
– Technical assistance with case design and implementation of tax-advantaged estate planning and business funding strategies
– Assisting financial advisors in profiling client needs and creating business for approaching clients and completing sales.
Dan Schorgl has had 19 years of financial services experience with specialization in estate, wealth, charitable, business succession and executive compensation planning and insurance analysis for high net worth families, business owners and professionals with estates ranging between $5 million and $2 billion.
Robin Robertson, CLU
Robin Robertson is a 30-year veteran of consulting and collaborating with the advisory teams of high-net-worth clients and businesses to determine when and to what degree financial strategies can create, enhance, protect and preserve income and wealth. All recommendations are made as part of an overall financial management and wealth transfer plan. All plans are designed to meet the goals, dreams and needs of each individual, business and family with whom she works.
Sean Kovich, CFP, CLU
Sean’s background, education and experience come together to provide independent and objective counsel as he works with advisors and their clients to determine the client’s goals and how to best achieve them. Having earned his CFP® and CLU® designations, Sean brings a unique qualitative perspective and passion for collaborative research and analytics, which helps him to comprehensively address risks clients face using insurance planning. Sean regularly works with clients in the areas of retirement, income tax, estate tax and business planning.
